Joe lost his old love to cancer. I don’t say former, because he
still loved her, even though he has been with another for
many years now. There’s nothing wrong about this—
many hearts are true enough to handle it. Her
dying happened in slow motion, like in a
dream you know is a dream but you
can’t wake up from. You get to
an age when this shit is to be
expected; still it doesn’t
diminish the pain.
