Q: Why “Knee Brace” Press?
A: Knee Brace Press is an homage to our founder’s favorite assistive device.
Q: What do you publish?
All submissions must relate to chronic illness, disability, mental health and/or neurodivergence in some way. What that means is pretty much up to you. Within that, we currently publish art, fiction, nonfiction, photography, and poetry, but we are certainly open to work outside of these categories.
Q: When can I submit my work?
Submissions to Knee Brace Press will be open four times a year: March 1-15, June 1-15, September 1-15, and December 1-15. Check out our submissions page for more info.
Q: Do you pay your contributors?
As much as we would like to, unfortunately, we do not have the money to pay our contributors at this time.
Q: Do we have to pay to submit?
Submissions are always free.
Q: When do author interviews open?
Author interviews are open at any time. Feel free to submit your work.
Q: What is your “summer series” and when does it take place?
Knee Brace Press’ summer series will take place over June, July, and August. Each month, we will feature panels of folks creating work about chronic conditions, disabilities, mental health, and/or neurodivergence. To see our lineup, check out the summer series page.
